This has been designed as a basic checklist for mutual funds.

There is of course much more that you should know before parting with your
money but at least if you take the time and fill out this form on a few investments.
You will begin to train your mind in what to look for.

NB: This is the least you should know before even considering an investment.                              

• Name of Mutual Fund
• When was the fund launched?
• Return for the Year to Date
• Return for 1 year
• Return for 3 years
• Return for 5 years
• What is the minimum investment?
• What are the funds total assets?
• Where is the fund domiciled?
• What part of the world does it invest in?
• How much do they charge to enter the fund (front end load)?
• What is the annual management fee?
• Is there a performance fee?
• Is there a fee if I want my money?
• Is there a fee for switching between funds?
• What is the investment currency?
• What sector of the market does it invest in?
• What is the funds objective?
• What are the funds top holdings (biggest shareholding).
• Do they pay dividends?
